Wiley Viverette grew up in Flint and attended Parkland Elementary,
Emerson Jr. High, Northern High School, and the University of Iowa.
Wiley began wrestling in elementary school. He was an inspiration
to his two younger brothers, Billie and Willie. They also became wrestlers,
and the three brothers wrestled in the 1961 Flint Olympian Games.
Wiley also played football for Northern and was a pole vaulter on
Northern's track team. However, Wiley made his mark as an outstanding
wrestler.
Wiley, a General Manager for K-Mart Stores, lives in San Antonio,
Texas with his wife and children.
