Donald Alonzo
Owens
Mr. Donald Alonzo Owens expired on Friday, November 8, 1991. He was
born in Flint, Michigan, and was a life-long member of Quinn Chapel
A.M.E. Church.
Donald was educated in Flint, graduating from Central High School
in 1931, where he sang in a quartet, played softball and baseball.
His love for sports continued throughout his adult life, being a member
of the Greater Flint Afro-American Hall of Fame and serving on the
Honorable Mention Committee.
Mr. Owens was employed at Chevrolet SPO, retiring in 1972.
He was a member of the Old-timers at Denny's and Brennen Community
Center Senior Citizens Club.
His family and friends will remember him for his love of sports, warm
loving smile, gentle ways and giving spirit.
