Oscar was a three sport star at Flint Central High School and a two
sport star at Pasadena City College, California.
He was the leading scorer for Central High and the City Basketball
Championship teams. Oscar was voted Central's Athlete of the Year in
1948. In basketball he was All City, All Valley and All State in 1948.
He was second in Saginaw Valley scoring 1948, and was the Central basketball
team season scoring champion during the same year (240 points).
In 1947, he teamed with his brother Arthur to set a Valley 880 relay
record of 1.32. Oscar held the Regional track record in the 440 (52.3),
and the Valley 440 record (51.5) in 1948.
Oscar and Arthur's football career at Flint Central was very thrilling
for sports fans. There were special plays used on the football team
to confuse the opposition. Oscar's play as offensive end at Central
was not overlooked by the other coaches, because Oscar had great running
ability after catching a pass.
Before his death in January, 1986, Oscar resided in Los Angeles, California.
