Tonya Edwards

Tonya Edwards attends Northwestern High School where she is a senior with a 3.4 grade point average. Tonya is a four year honor student, and a two year Exchange Club "Athlete of the Month." She has been class president for four years, student government president for one, and student government vice president for one year.

Tonya attends Bethel United Methodist Church. She participates on the usher board and is an active member of the youth group.

Her future plans are to attend a major college/university and major in broadcast communications or electrical engineering. She would like to play professional basketball if a league exists.

Besides Tonya's great academic record, she has also accomplished a great athletic record:

  • Runner up for Miss Basketball 1985-86
  • State career scoring record of 2,307
  • All City, All Valley, All State - 4 years - basketball
  • MVP (Valley) - 3 years - basketball
  • All State Dream Team - 3 years - basketball parade
  • All American - 3 years - basketball
  • Street and Smith All American - 2 years - basketball
  • OBBA Player of the Year - 1985-86 - basketball
  • Participated in State Final Track Meet - 1985
  • All City Softball Team - 1984
  • CANUSA Team - 6 years
  • State AAU Team - 3 years

Anthony Hamm

A junior at Northern High School, where he has accomplished an impressive cross country record.

Anthony won the State Cross Country meet with a time of 15 minutes and 42 seconds. He placed first in the TA Junior Olympics with a time of 15:42, and placed second at the Regionals held in Kentucky with a time of 15:47.

At the National Cross Country Meet held in Cincinnati, Ohio, Anthony placed 15th with a time of 16:11.

Being only a junior, Anthony should have an even greater record as a senior next year.
