Michigan Education Savings Program (MESP)
Information about Michigan's 529 College Savings Plan designed to help families set aside funds for future college costs.

Michigan Education Trust (MET)
Information about the Michigan Education Trust which allows pre-purchase of undergraduate tuition at any Michigan public university or college.

Michigan Office of Scholarships and Grants
State of Michigan site that provides information about the various state financial aid programs such as the Michigan Competitive Scholarship, the Tuition Incentive Program, the Michigan Nursing Scholarship, and the new Michigan Promise scholarship.

Michigan Student Financial Aid Association
The official association of financial aid officers in Michigan. Provides information on grants and scholarships for Michigan residents.

National Co-op Scholarship Program
Merit co-op scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors and college transfer students who plan to participate in college cooperative education at one of the NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities (includes Kettering University).

Scholarsite
Visitors can quickly search approximately 600,000 financial aid opportunities using general criteria; it isn't necessary to enter personal information. The bilingual site also offers an option for full Spanish text.

Black Excel
Provides an extensive listing of links to scholarships for minority students.

Gates Millennium Scholars
Scholarship awards to reduce financial barriers for African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need.

Genesee Chamber Foundation
Offering the Katherine Roat Stevens Scholarship Fund annually to female high school seniors graduating from Genesee County schools who meet specific criteria.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Offers higher education assistance to Hispanic Americans of all ages.

Mott Community College Gold Card Scholarship Program
Covers the cost of tuition and fees for senior citizens who have reached the age of 60 or older.

United Negro College Fund
Offers assistance to historically black colleges and universities, and offers scholarship, study abroad and mentoring programs.

U.S. News and World Reports
U.S. News and World Report lists hundreds of scholarships for specific ethnic groups. Includes deadlines and dollar amounts.

Built by the U.S Department of Education, in collaboration with students, this site offers information about applying to, attending and graduating from college. Features lots of personal accounts from students on peer pressure, lack of family support and financial barriers.

College Is Possible
This uncluttered site presents college prep basics in an easy-to-follow manner. Its best books and sites are useful.

High School Graduate
Resources for graduating high school students including lots of great articles on getting into college and the college experience.

U.S. News and World Report College Rankings
The well-known U.S. News and World Report college rankings are now available online, broken down into national universities and national liberal arts universities as well as by region.

School Search

American Medical Careers
Training center, located in Flint, offering concentrated, short-term training programs that prepare students to receive health care certifications and obtain valuable skills up a career ladder in the medical field. Main campus is located in the Great Lakes Technology Centre with additional campus location in Lansing.

College Board Online
Contains a database of more than 3,000 two-year and four-year colleges.

CollegeNET
Another database of colleges, universities and trade schools. Tailors the lists of schools based on factors such as tuition, geography and type of school.

Distance Education and Training Council
Provides a directory of accredited distance learning institutions. Search by location or subject.

Peterson's Education & Career Center
From the publisher of college directories comes their online version. Information on accredited schools, study abroad programs, summer programs and more!

Vocational Information Center

Learning Express Library
